Mr. Hedley Butterfield did his second presentation on 30th Dec 2012 at ADMC room T001 at 01:00
pm. He started his presentation by displaying a picture return to the
famous civil engineer Mr. Isambard Kingdom Brunel, this outstanding character
who was born in the 17th century
in 9th April, 1806 and
dead in 1859. Also he continued talking about the engineer Brunel history and
he mentioned the poll that conducted by BBC in 2002 to select the "100
Greatest Britons", Brunel was in the second place, behind PM Winston
Churchill.
Later on he went though the slides and talked about Eng. IK. Brunel achievements and his splendor design for example the Thames Tunnel, Clifton Suspension Bridge, Maidenhead Railway Bridge, and Great Western Railway and Great Britain which considered as a modern ship at that time. In addition he showed some images of what was constructed by engineer during his life and still stands. Moreover he said that he did this particular presentation before five or six time in front of many classes and they did not recognize who he was Eng. IK. Brunel.
The presentation was interesting because of the topic, Although Mr. Hedley presentation does not have a slide background, and the visual items that he used were enough to deliver the whole idea to the audience.
